Virtual Reality

Head up to the first floor of the Town Hall, slip on some VR goggles and be transported to the spaces below the footpaths of Ballarat, and to the rooftops and towers above. VR and touchscreen viewers will be available to use, and you can even take a special Heritage Weekend cardboard viewer away with you to use with your own phone while you're out and about. (Limited numbers available). Speak to the creators of the tours and see what's possible with modern technology. Contribute your own stories of underground Ballarat spaces.

Fashion

This year's fashion feature will be brought to life by Tableaux Vivants (Engligh translation: living pictures), a popular Victorian theatrical performance of storytelling. The story of 100 years of technology in fashion will also be told through narrated catwalk parades and music of the era, as well as a showcase of innovative and elegant clothing and accessories from The Charlotte Smith Fashion Collection (formerly known as The Darnell Collection).
Sportswear, party dresses, knitted and woven casual wear, printed fabrics, eye-popping colour, striking silhouettes, covetable fabrics, and other iconic fashion moments will feature on the stage at The Mining Exchange throughout the weekend.
