Doctor Blake's Ballarat


Doctor Blake’s Ballarat offers a glimpse into the world of internationally successful drama series The Doctor Blake Mysteries. Get up close to the props, costumes, photography, and set sketches that bring Doctor Blake to life, and see the historic Ballarat locations featured in the show. Be greeted at the door by Doctor Blake’s iconic 1937 Coventry Standard car and take a selfie behind the doctor’s desk. Step into the set of the doctor’s lounge room or relax in Doctor Blake’s waiting room. A program of events has been organised for the exhibition including panel discussions with Doctor Blake crew.

Chinese Fortunes


By 1950, all but one of Ballarat's Chinese buildings had been destroyed. What was the Chinese presence in Ballarat before everything disappeared? Uncover some of the mysteries of Ballarat’s colourful Chinese past at MADE and explore Chinese Fortunes during Heritage Month. During Heritage Weekend MADE shine a light on Ballarat’s Chinatown and the Chinese architecture that used to exist on Main Rd. MADE will feature an article written in the early 50’s that describes what Chinatown looked like, where it was and why the Chinese heritage Ballarat was so unique and special.

This exhibition brings together a group of leading Australian contemporary artists who have explored the idea of myth-making in history and have revealed some of the flaws in the stories that are told in mainstream Australian culture. Our exhibiting artists include: Tony Albert, Aunty Marlene Gilson, Pitcha Makin Fellas, Sue Kneebone, Rodney Pople, Joan Ross & Jacqui Stockdale.
